AI writing agent
What problem it solves
Generic chat lacks project context, invents paths, or overwrites the wrong file. Long-form work needs several documents in play and a controllable edit loop.
How WriteX handles it
The WriteX agent is bound to your project folder. It reads the Markdown and attachments you add as context and shows tool steps in the UI. Calls go through BYOK to your chosen model. WriteX does not host models or upload manuscript content to its own cloud.
Typical use cases
- Expand chapters from outline and canon files with consistent tone
- Roll several notes into a README, weekly report, or review draft
- Add public facts via web search when needed
Works well with
Scope inputs with context attachments; find files via project search; snapshot before risky rewrites.
Common questions
Does the agent modify files on its own? It depends on your prompts and confirmations—see Does the agent modify local files?.
Do I need a WriteX account? No—configure an API key and start.
