Windows install and update

Windows public beta ships Store as primary channel and Gitee NSIS as backup.

Before you start

64-bit Windows 10 1809+; ~500 MB disk.

Steps

1. Store: use Download, updates via Store.
2. Gitee backup: run NSIS installer; see SmartScreen FAQ if blocked.
3. On first launch, confirm update source (Store or manifest to Gitee/GitHub).
4. Updates fetch binaries and manifests only—never your manuscripts.

Tips and best practices

If Store is blocked, use Gitee and check releases manually. macOS public beta is not out yet.
